Who is behind the Kambusa?

Luigi Mainardi: A concrete man guided by true values

Luigi grew up in the family farmyard.

There he learned the fundamental rule for those who do this job: nature cannot be deceived and shortcuts always come with a cost.

The hard work, concreteness, and respect for raw materials are not slogans, but values that have accompanied him his entire life.

When he arrived at the lake, he found a market focused on volume and aesthetics, with lengthy menus to please everyone and a total disinterest in true quality.

He chose not to be part of it.

He did not adapt to mass tourism and preferred the excellence of raw materials, cooking techniques, and customer service.

Thus La Kambusa was born.

He chose the thick stone walls of the oldest palace in Lazise, dating back to 1200, to isolate his guests from the noise of the outside world.
